Helping
Kids will learn ways they can be kind, fair, and helpful to their neighbors, their community, and the larger world we share.
You can access Big Heart activities with your Noggin subscription.
Kids learn these
important skills
- Help individuals such as friends and family, but also communities, neighborhoods, and the environment.
- Make meaningful contributions, both big and small.
- Understand that their contributions can make a difference.
- Actively look for ways to provide assistance. This help can take many different forms (e.g., sharing, resolving an issue, pitching in to complete a task, donating time or items, etc.).
- Notice the emotional rewards associated with helping (both for the helper and for the people being helped).

Ask your child to name one of their communities. It can be their school classroom, playgroup, sports class, or neighborhood. Then think together of ways they can help celebrate that community. Your child can create cards for the other members, host an outdoor soccer game, or help organize a fun group outing!

The Noggins work really hard to clean up together – which is a great way to help their community and the environment! Encourage your child to create a litter squad with friends! Just like the Noggins, they can work together to help clean up their school playground or neighborhood park.
