What You'll Need

Instructions

Help your child cut a 1-inch strip off the short side of the paper. Set it aside to be used as a handle in the last step.

Fold the paper in half.

Help your child cut slits into the paper, stopping 1 inch from the edge.

Open the paper. Holding it vertically, put one top corner over the other, then tape or glue together. Repeat on the other end.

Tape or glue the handle to the top of the lantern.

Hang it up to celebrate a bright, happy Lunar New Year!
