Friendship Card

Help kids express their appreciation to a special friend and share how they care with this creative art activity.

What They’ll Learn

Children will practice expressing appreciation and gratitude for the friends in their life.

Materials

  • Paper, construction paper, or cardstock
  • Crayons, markers, paints, or oil pastels
  • Glitter, pom-poms, or any other embellishments

Description

  • Have your child choose a friend to receive their card.
  • Encourage them to draw or decorate the card in a way that represents their friendship.
  • Ask them to dictate a message to their friend – for example, describing why their friend is special or simply saying “thank you for being my friend.”
  • Help your child to address the card to their friend and sign their name.
  • Deliver the friendship card at school pick-up, in the mail, or during a play date!
