How Kids Learn at Noggin: 4 Core Principles

Noggin is committed to – and passionate about – building essential skills and expanding knowledge in learners 2 to 7. And we’ve spent significant time planning, researching, and formulating on how our Noggin kids learn, play, and grow. Below are four core principles that shape Noggin’s learning platform.

Research-based learning framework

We align to established education standards and have designed 5 learning areas that focus on a child’s whole development – each one builds related skills and expands on different topics. See below for more!

The skills are introduced in a specific sequenced way so a child can build upon each skill. And we have a consistent teaching model to grow those skills!

Skills + Knowledge = Deeper Learning

Just building skills isn’t enough. Noggin believes expanding knowledge (including subjects like biology, visual arts, music, and engineering) while developing these foundational skills drives deeper learning.

Innovative learning approaches

There is so much for kids to learn – and many approaches to learning! From research-based vocabulary and executive function approaches to meaningfully and thoughtfully addressing Diversity, Representation, and Inclusion, Noggin carefully integrates consistent and intentional educational elements throughout content.

Playful, purposeful content!

Kids learn in many different ways, but experts agree one thing is central – making it a joyful experience makes a big impact. We use a research-to-practice approach and innovative game design to make sure all our content delivers learning impact (while being fun to play and watch!)

Interaction with familiar favorite characters

Relationships of all kinds have a big impact on little kids’ growth. So when children interact with the familiar characters they already love, research shows it amplifies their learning experience. The more they’re connected to these friends, the longer they stay engaged, and the better they learn.
